Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - Book Report

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is written by J.K. Rowling and was first published in 1997. It’s J.K. Rowling’s debut book and was a great success.

The book is about a boy called Harry, an orphan who lives with his horrible step parents and his cousin, Dudley. They treat him like he is worth nothing, he doesn’t feel welcome and the always describe his parent to him as bad persons. Shortly before Harry’s 11th birthday mail addressed to him from Hogwarts begin to appear, but these are destroyed by Harry’s uncle before Harry has a chance to see them. After a short while, odd things stars to happen around the family; owls are spotted, cats are reading maps and more. To prevent Harry from getting more letters or discover these strange objects, his aunt and uncle decides to stay at a hotel for a while.
